At the meeting, Wan Ying, Secretary-General of the China Internet of Things E-commerce Logistics and Express Branch, Sébastien, Environmental and Climate Change Counselor of the EU Delegation to China, Liu Xiao, Director of GIZ, Duan Huabo, Associate Professor of Shenzhen University, and Duan Yanjian, Project Leader of Jingdong Logistics Qingliu Project, shared Their own ideas and results. According to Liu Xiao, the current express delivery business volume in my country is growing rapidly, with an annual growth rate of up to 20%. In 2020, the express delivery business volume has reached 83 billion pieces. It is expected that the express delivery business volume will reach 96 billion pieces in 2021. With the rapid development of express logistics, the green transformation of express packaging has become a topic of concern to all parties.

To this end, JD Logistics has made many efforts. According to Duan Yanjian, at present, JD Logistics has put more than 10,000 recyclable packaging boxes in Haikou, the pilot project of this project, and has piloted recyclable express bags for the first time, exploring the gradual reduction of the use of disposable PE plastic packaging bags. In addition, JD Logistics will pilot a circular sharing model in different business scenarios.

Recycling and management of boxes is a big problem for recycling packaging. Duan Yanjian said that JD Logistics adopts the "one box, one code" management model in the collection and reverse recycling. The unique code of the bag is bound to realize the visual management of the whole process. After the cyclic express packaging is assembled, the code only needs to be scanned once in the reverse recovery and transfer link, which greatly improves the efficiency of cyclic packaging operation and management.

In fact, in recent years, various provinces have successively promulgated documents such as the specifications for the use of express packaging to promote the green transformation of express packaging and promote the green and high-quality development of the postal express industry. As the largest special economic zone in China, Hainan Province has a huge express delivery business volume, and the green transformation of express packaging has become an important issue of Hainan's attention. To this end, the project uses Haikou, the provincial capital, as a pilot city, and selects JD Logistics as the only cooperative enterprise for the recycling packaging demonstration project.

Duan Huabo said that the main goal of the project is to reduce the amount of packaging materials in the express delivery industry, especially plastic packaging at the source. The main method is to use recycled packaging instead. At present, the recycling packaging use model has basically taken shape, and it is more important to expand this model to achieve demonstration and promotion effects.
